EVENT DETAILS"You're not here to be average...You're here to be AWESOME"The Watertown Middle School hosts a Girls Night for 7th and 8th Grade girls each Fall WMS. This is an event that provides a safe environment for participants to discuss topics & participate in activities related specifically to young girls. The night begins with participant check-in & t-shirt pick up. Next participants have an opportunity to take individual or group pictures in front of a hand drawn and painted backdrop. We proceed to social time, homemade/catered supper and a keynote/ice breaker. Next participants rotate through a series of guest speakers to include comprised of successful and confident female professionals/leaders. After each guest speaker participants return for small group sessions with ice breaker/get-to-know-you activities & to discuss guest speaker messages. Small groups are led by WSD/WMS Staff & Community Leaders who have experience leading small groups and responding to potentially confidential information. In between sessions and small groups large group team building games/activities are implemented. This event is chaperoned by WSD/WMS lady staff members, LATI & local volunteers. We are very excited about this event and think it's an excellent opportunity for the young girls of WMS to build positive relationships with each other, with local community leaders and with WMS female staff members. Topics discussed include: being a confident young woman, setting and achieving goals, self-worth, safety, etc. |
